  1. I think is better do an upgrade with support of nfc

Missing steps: ENTER DEVICE enable nfc and send RECEIVER DEVICE: turn on wifi, connect to the network "sample" with a password sample, open Internet and go to http://192.168.43.1:8080

    1. Sorry for this very late response but I did some research on the Nexus 7 recently and it seems like it is lacking the standard WiFi Tethering functionality, which is needed for this app to work.

    Merci

  12. I am using HTC Sensation. First when I downloaded this app, it worked fine. I was totally blown out by such a great app. I also rated it 5 stars on play store. At that time I had installed jellybam rom v4.1.0 but now I have installed viperS rom v1.6.3 and it is not working. It is stuck at initializing and doesn't proceeds further. My friend is having HTC Sensation xl but he is on stock rom. His phone is not rooted. FFT doesn't work on his phone too. This app doesn't support HTC roms or what? Or should I go back to jellybam rom? Please fix this ASAP.

    1. Hi!
Unfortunately, there are problems on stock HTC ROMS and ROMS that are based on them. I'll try to get this fixed for the next release. For the time being, I'd suggest you to switch back to Jellybam or another AOSP-based ROM.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No additional hardware needed. According to Wikipedia, the range of 802.11n, the WiFi standard of most current smartphones is around 60 metres. The modules in phones are usually comparably weak, but I'd estimate that 20 metres are possible at least.

  17. This program can transfer files between Android only devices. And what if I want to transfer files from PC under Windows 7? Server part for PC is not present so this programm is not useful in practical environment. What will I do with this? Send file from one phone to another? Most people needs fast method of transfer files from PC to Android Phone or tablet PC. Make another part of the soft for Windows and this program will be much more useful for most people.

    1. No, actually, the app can send FROM Android TO ANY WiFi-capable device.
Nevertheless, you are right that the app can't send from a PC. You might have missed what this app is thought to be: It is a fast replacement for Bluetooth file transfers, not a PC syncing software.
A PC server program is not really possible, as FFT highly relies on the WiFi Tethering mechanism of your phone.

  18. Hello,

I'm not sure whether this has been reported already (or whether it's even an actual problem with the app) but when I try to send a file using FFT, it disables the local DHCP of my phone. This causes the receiving phone to state that it has limited connectivity when it connects to the WiFi hotspot.

This seems to prevent it from receiving the file. The hotspot in the sending phone does state that the receiving phone is connected to it, but the receiver's browser just states that the webpage is unavailable even after the IP address is keyed into it.

The phone I've been trying to send files from is a HTC Desire X and I've tried to receive the file with a few SE Xperias and another HTC phone. Is this a compatibility issue because of the manufacturer?

    Thank you for your time.

    1. Hi! It actually is a problem of the WiFi Tethering implementation and mainly concerns HTC devices. I am trying to resolve the problem. Please click Mail from the menu above and I'll send you a beta version.

It seems like your carrier is restricting the use of WiFi tethering which FFT needs to function.

  20. Hi,

Trying to use this between a Samsung Galaxy S3, and a Nexus 7, obviously with the S3 as the host of the app.

I select a file, follow the instructions, hot spot launches, N7 connects fine, shows full wifi bars, enter web address, and nothing, Browser (Chrome) just sits there, no page opens, no progress or prompt to save, nothing at all on the Nexus 7 to say anything is happening!

On the S3 I see a progress bar, which just stalls a few % in, and notification bar shows something like 2.12/5.42 MB ; 0Mbit/s ; 0s remaining.

Re entering the URL starts the transfer again, but it always stalls, at slightly different places each time.

    Any ideas?

    Both devices are stock ROMs:
    S3 (GT-19300) is a branded T-Mobile (UK) running 4.0.4.
    Nexus 7 is 4.2.2

    1. Check the messages above. The dev writes that the N7 doesn't have the appropriate wifi tethering implementation to support this software.

    2. Thanks for jumping in here, Anonymous, but Mark is trying to send from his S3 to his N7, if I get him right, which should not be a problem.
I already heard of many who are using the app successfully on an S3. I'd suggest to try a different browser.

This is a problem with Safari on iOS devices. Try to just change the extension of the file to .zip (without actually zipping it), send it, open it in a file manager on the iPad and restore the extension.

  30. Hi, first of all, congratulations, this is a great app.
I want to suggest a pair of feature request:
    - Sometimes there is no need to create a Wifi hotspot as there is already a wifi network and devices are both connected to it, it would be great to ask first.
    - Sometimes I want to receive a file, but app is not installed in sender device. I known it could be downloaded or shared, but then process it's a little more slow, complex, etc. It would be marvellous to allow receive mode. I suppose send mode is based on an embedded jetty or another java http container, so I think it would be possible to implement upload as well as download mode. I know it would be much more complex to implement and would involve an html with upload form, but this would make definitely the difference, only one device with app installed to send and receive.

    Thank you

  31. thanks for the app it works very well.just one feature i would like it to have. that is . after the file is received, i would like to have the possibility as the sender to let the QR code open so the file can be downloaded as many time i want.
